Introduction to WordCamp Ogijima English sessions!

Today, we’ll share with you some more information about the English speaking sessions. There are two English speaking sessions at WordCamp Ogijima 2020. If you’ve been having thoughts about ‘how to work online’ ‘where to work’ etc. these sessions may give you something to take home with you.

1.Discuss (Meeting) : Place doesn’t matter for productivity

Three speakers, Mike Schroder, a full-time contributor sponsored by GoDaddy who moved to Ogijima from US in 2019, Jean-Christophe Helary, a translator born and raised in France and moved to Takamatsu City, Japan, and Miho Inoue, Content Marketer at Nulab Inc. who has worked in both Tokyo, Bangkok, and is currently looking for a new place to live outside a large city, will come together to discuss why they chose to move to a rural area, how they work and live.

The discussion will be led by two moderators, Susumu Seino, a web marketer and a nomad now in Thailand, and Shinichi Nishikawa, lead organizer for WordCamp Ogijima 2018 who has lived in Tokyo, Bangkok, and now in Ogijima.

Thinking about joining a Japanese session?

You’re welcome to join the Japanese sessions, too!

Every session at WordCamp Ogijima will be using UD Talk, a communication tool for subtitles and automatic translation. This tool can be used to listen to the session and read the translated caption at the same time.

You are welcome to participate in both English and Japanese sessions, however UD talk cannot be used for two way communication, which means it’s not as useful for the workshop and discussion style sessions. We will share more about how to use UD talk in a post coming soon!
